What is your role at Annie Officiel

Charlotte and I have been working together from day one of the Annie Officiel concept - it’s been an amazing journey so far and now my official role is Managing Director.

How would you describe your personal style?
H
I have quite a simple style; mostly neutrals, no prints and more often a pair of trainers rather than a heel. I guess it’s quite masculine as most things I wear are a little oversized.

The balance of the entire look is something that I always think about, only going for volume at the shoulder or perhaps a wide leg trouser. Without realising, I also only ever wear two colours at any one time and one of those is usually black.

What are your 3 favorites pieces in your wardrobe and why?

I have an obsession with miniskirts. My favourite look right now is the AO Lily high-waist mini with a black polo-neck and blazer. It’s the perfect mini length and the fabric feels luxurious and elevated.
H
My RAEY Black oversized silk shirt – I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve worn this. As its silk it always feels great against the skin and has a luxuriousness to it. It literally works with everything, tucked into jeans, or a mini skirt even thrown over a swimsuit.
H
Re/done jeans – I have an embarrassing number of Re-/done jeans, they just fit me so well so always buy my size when I see them on sale

H
What do you have the most of/collect?

Jeans – I must have 30 pairs that all somehow do a slightly different job. A mix of Re/done and vintage Levi’s.

H
Do you have any heirloom pieces or sentimental pieces?
H
I have a vintage mens Rolex watch my late mother gave me for a significant birthday that I will always treasure. I wear it quite loose on my wrist and always think of her when I check the time.

H
What is your favorite AO piece and how you wear/style it?
H
I am all about pieces that really work hard for you, can be styled in different ways and generally quite timeless.
I only buy investment pieces - style over fashion in quality fabrics. Before buying something new I always think about all the other pieces it will go with and what new looks the new item will create, otherwise it just sits there unloved and unworn - this is the main reason most of the AO collection is black - so it can be styled back into your existing wardrobe to bring older pieces back to life.
H
My AO Martha high-waist wool trousers are a perfect example of that. I've worn them in winter and summer, during the day and for an evening event. That for me is the ultimate investment piece.
